About this hike

Mørkedalsnutane on the front of Lifjell has many paths up. This is a beautiful and wild area. You can walk from Grimås and in from the back. You can also hike up Borkebudalen behind Bjørgefjell starting from the Reinstaul parking lot. For a little more effort, you can go up via To on the hiking trails there. There are many great viewpoints in Seljord. Up on Mørkedalsnutane you will find perhaps one of the most beautiful. Seeing Seljord from this angle is fantastic. There are many ways to get here. The simplest is perhaps up Borkebudalen and beyond. You can also walk from Tvitjønanne at Grimås. Or, you can walk from Buktibakken or from Veslestaul via Fisbu and Heiersdal at Manheim. If you're fit, you can take the road by Tosand, which is how Torje Lindsøl transported the materials to his cabin - Liebu - in 1944. These old paths are more or less overgrown. But, there is a lot of animal traffic.
