About this hike
Raudjuv - play and experience in streams and gorges
There are few things more fun - for young and old alike - than exploring old streams, riverbeds and gorges. Seljord has several such natural formations, and Raudjuv is one of the most accessible and exciting.
The tour starts at Lauvnes, where you can park in the pockets along the road. Please note that there are operations in the sandpit in the area, so be careful not to park in the road for construction traffic.
The first 1-1.5 km up the gorge are child-friendly, with easy terrain, small rocks and exciting nature. Here you can balance on rocks, climb rocks, or just follow the path and listen to the sound of the stream.
Further up the trail, the terrain becomes more rugged, but it is possible to turn around whenever you want - and the trip can be adapted for both children and adults.
Length: 1-4 km (round trip - any length)
Time: 30 min to 1.5 hours
Gradient: Easy to moderate
Terrain: Paths, streams, small mountains and forest.
Difficulty level: Easy - but varying further up
Suitable for: Families, children, playing in nature, close walks with exploration
