The winter parking lot at Kopperoe is large and easy to find. Drive up Heiåivegen past Fossheim until you reach the parking lot. There you can park in a large, beautifully plowed space. You start your hike from here. Tracks are often made inwards. Sometimes just a snowmobile trail. The view ahead in the forest meadow with Gryvlum, Fyljomsnuten, Svafjell and Brattefjell on the horizon. On the way in, you come to Sletteva. Here you can turn right to get to Småtjønn. You pass Småtjønn and follow Heiai uphill until you reach Krakset. Here you can continue towards Svain or towards Svartdal. Or, you can go back the same way you came. Very beautiful winter landscapes with white mountains and snow-filled forests.
