Tho (To) - a short, steep and atmospheric hike from Manheimsida

Tho - also known as To - is one of the fine local hiking destinations on the Manheim side of Seljordsvatnet. The hike is steep, short and varied, and takes you up to an old farm and hut area with history and views. It's places like this that remind us how much there is to see right outside our front doors.

Main route from Tosand:

The tour starts from Tosand, down by the lake, and climbs steeply up the hillside to Tho - which lies like a small opening in the forest, with views of the lake and the villages. The route is around 2 km one way, with a steady and good gradient all the way. Here you walk on good paths and trails, with beautiful mixed forest, mountains and old tufts along the way.

Alternative route from Buktibakken:

You can also start at the bend in Buktibakken, somewhat higher up along the road. This route is about 1 km longer and provides a slightly slower start. In total, the trip is around 3 km one way. Perfect for those who want a quieter start to their hike.
