The Krokan Gorge.
If you like walking uphill and getting a few drops of sweat on your forehead, the hike from Krokan via Dansarsalen to Karlstaul could be for you. The climb up there offers a lot of nature, views and wildlife. There are old tracks here, which they must have travelled on foot and by horse in the old days. Under Vensås there were many pillars in ancient times. You can still see the remains of some of them. It's no more than 2.6 kilometres up to Karlstaul. It is perhaps the shortest way up there. It goes straight up with 584 metres of ascent. Almost 200 per kilometre. That's pretty steep. However, the paths are good and there is a combination of footpaths, animal trails and bridleways. You need to aim diagonally towards the clearing at the top and follow your gut feeling. Look for paths and trails. This is great fun. There is also a lot of history here. Take the trip and don't despair if you don't get all the way up. Sit down on one of the many rocks and look out over the land at Bjørge with Seljordsvatnet at the far end. Have a good trip. It was fun to meet good hikers today, ouch.
