Skorve really has a lot to offer. Skorve is surrounded by our villages in the centre of Seljord. Now in the summer, there are great hiking experiences to be had here. And many people take a trip to Skorve during the year. If you want to go on a long hike, you can do so from many places. For example, from Haugan in Kivledalen, where this tour started. There's plenty of parking and a good start if you want to make a round trip out of it. The tour went up to the American airplane wreck and further along Langfjellhalli towards the top of Hellbergli, to see the canyons down the mountainsides there. Further up to lower Tveittjønn and between mountain lakes to Nordnibba (1365 metres above sea level). Here you have a fantastic view back towards Hestenutan and the whole area towards Brattefjell, Vindeggen and Gaustatoppen. You can continue on and walk up to and behind the cabin on the mountain lake. Take in the slopes above Bjørndalen before reaching the path back up at upper Tveittjønn. From there it goes straight to Skorvetoppen (1369 metres above sea level) at the top of Gøysen. On a sunny summer's day and at sunset, there are spectacular displays of colour in the blue sky towards West Telemark. On the way down, you can walk past the Listaul tufts and down the tractor road. The alternative is via Karlstaul. The hike is about 16 km with over 1,000 metres of ascent, so you should allow 4-6 hours. That way you'll get to see most of Skorve. As well you should.
