Øysteinnatten (1174 metres above sea level) is a beautiful peak on Lifjell from the Bø side. The snow is almost gone. Only a few scree slopes to walk over or round. This hike starts from Jønnbu and climbs 570 metres before reaching the top. The hiking trails in Bø are more like motorways than the ones we're used to in Seljord. Well marked and impossible to lose. The total length of the hike is 10.5 kilometres and is quite demanding if you don't set aside enough time. Lots of nice little mountain lakes and valleys, which should slow down the pace. Nice views of Røystalsnuten and the Lifjell plateau. And, of course, the majestic Gaustatoppen in the distance.
