To Mælefjell on one of the hottest days of the year.
There are several routes to the top of Mælefjell and one of the "new" ones is from Slåka in Grunningsdalen. This means you don't need a key for the barrier, as is the case on the Flatdal side. Cross the new bridges and walk to Heimre Slåkastaulen. From there, there is a path up Londalen, before you turn off and walk up the steep slopes of Mælefjell's backside. It's wild and spectacular, with lots of rocks with vegetation in between. Very beautiful terrain. Lots of details to look at in the rock formations. Great and special views towards Londalen, which makes you think about how they operated down there in the landslide-prone area. Afterwards, you walk in the rocky landscape towards the summit at 1413 metres above sea level. This hike is 15 km long and with an ascent of over 900 metres, it can easily take 6-8 hours.
