← Trail Tips
Sometimes you have to get out of the city for a trip. Today I went on a really long trip to Spafjellet in Tokke. A fantastic area in West Telemark. It's great fun to realise that this is where I live. True enough, the trip started in Bykle, and then went into Kåns County and Kåns good neighbour; Tokke. Spafjell's highest point is 1467 metres above sea level and demands a lot from the hiker. There are a lot of smaller mountains to climb and with a total ascent of more than 1,000 metres, it's very hard on the legs. Both up and down. But, boy, what a day. What weather in October. 16 degrees centigrade on the way up and over 5 on the way down. Yes, it takes time. I came down in the black evening. 20 kilometres and 6 1/2 hours. Fun with autumn!
