The snow begins to melt above 800 metres above sea level. Bjørgenuten will soon be passable from the back of the Reinstaul car park. But it will take a few more weeks. Or you'll have to snowshoe on top of a half-rotten layer of snow. It's all right, but it's a bit of a slog up from the cabin to the first lookout point. Regardless, it's warm in the veranda even on a foggy day. It's 6.35 kilometres up and down to the summit (875 metres above sea level) and will take about 3 hours. 400 metres of ascent. An alternative route is up Bjørgestigen from the farm. There it is completely bare upwards.
