When you're over 900 years old and have been slaving away for 300 years, it's hardly surprising that you're tired and worn out. Filled with marks, nicks and dirt. Bark and moustaches in long lines up the body. Old and proud. Wise from experience and witness to so much. Øverlandseika is a gigantic giant deep inside Øverlandsheii. In other words, it's older than Seljord church from 1180 - the early Middle Ages. If you haven't visited it yet, you should do so this summer. Many of its relatives were killed in the storm last autumn, so perhaps that's one reason why the giant has survived all these years. Drive to Trollbotn and park at the barrier at the start of the road on the left-hand side. The oak tree lies 2 kilometres up in the old plains where the three Øverlandsgardane farms once stood. You won't find any more of them, but you can see and feel the earth and hollow walls in the terrain. Take a trip to the large pine tree on the left (1 kilometre from the barrier) in the pine forest there. It is estimated to be around 10 cubic metres. It takes three people to get round it. This is an exciting trip for most people (you can find the trip in the Fintur app)
