Brattlinuten and Knurrlinatten sound like the two spoilt brats of Brattefjell. But these are two respectable youngsters, at 996 and 1053 metres above sea level respectively. Metres above sea level, that is. Brattlinuten lies on the outer edge of the conservation area. Knurrlinatten, on the other hand, has carved out a place for itself well inside the Brattefjell/Vindeggen landscape conservation area. Or Nature Reserve, if you will. Or even tougher: National Park. Incidentally, Seljord is the largest at 381.9 square kilometres. Here, nature is vast and the views spectacular, with views of Gaustatoppen and the rest of the peaks for miles around. You can drive up Heiåivegen from Åmotsdal to the car park at Kopperobakken. Or, you can walk from the centre of Svartdal and up Minnesjorddalen. Fantastic mountain areas with lots to see.
