Oh, dear Skørve! Your winter coat is slipping off you, slowly but surely. Wide canyons, frozen hills and bare mountains are coming into view. In all their splendour. What can you offer this summer? If you let yourself go, summer will be beautiful! Skorve with Gøysen is one of my favourite things to do in Seljord. Well-centred geographically in the municipality, there are many roads to the top. The most commonly used is from Haugan down in Kivledalen, where there is plenty of parking (£20). If you like steep slopes and views, this is the trip to take this summer. There is a forest road with very steep sections up to Karlstaul. From there, there's a good path to Listaul and the "junction". Go straight up and you're on your way to the top (the sign has been peeling this winter, so we'll have to fix that). As you pass through the meadows up the hill, you'll find an open landscape with trickling streams, rocky outcrops and beautiful mountains. And, yes. There are lots of rocks. Remember, it's longer than you think. Just under a mile up and down. Skorvetoppen lies at 1369 metres above sea level.
