With mountain goats to Sinuberg in Kivledalen.
I was lucky enough to get Olav, Sigrunn and Gunhild to show me the way to Sinuberg up in the hills below Skorve. Start from the road in Kivledalen. Here they have cleared and restored the old roads and paths. It's steep here. Continue to Langeberg and up to Nordigardsfjellet before reaching Sinubergskøri. Finally ending at Sinuberg. It's perhaps not as impassable as it might seem. There are old farm roads here, from the days when they collected hay and fodder for the livestock. There used to be plains and meadows, far up against the rock walls below Såvestaulnuten. The tracks are still there today. The hike up is about 2 km, but with a steep incline of around 350 vertical metres, making it somewhat difficult. It's certainly not for everyone. But, a challenge for most. The hike goes up to the mountain on the plain at Sinuberg. There's a good view of Kivledalen and diagonally towards the city centre. You look straight across to Skuggefjell and towards Tjønnstaul on the other side. Thank you very much for the tour. This is local history at its very best. Kivledalen has so much nature, history and, not least, friendly people!
